I was looking at the specs of both 12 inchers:

Powerbook -
Size and weight (12-inch model)
Height: 1.18 inches (3.0 cm)
Width: 10.9 inches (27.7 cm)
Depth: 8.6 inches (21.9 cm)
Weight: 4.6 pounds (2.1 kg)

iBook
Size and weight: iBook G4 with 12.1-inch display
Height: 1.35 inches (3.42 cm)
Width: 11.2 inches (28.5 cm)
Depth: 9.06 inches (23.0 cm)
Weight: 4.9 pounds (2.2 kg)

Any of this noticeable in person?

Any of this noticeable in person?I doubt 3/10ths of a pound will make much difference. And they both use the same size of laptop bags/inserts so they'll take up the same room carrying them.

Of course you're forgetting the other differences between the 2 units:
Memory Speed.
Processor Speed
Superdrive availability
Case material

Waiting for benchmarks to show if those "little" differences are worth the extra money

Superdrive and case material aren't an issue.

Yo.
I have a 12inch iBook and have a friend who has a 12inch Powerbook. Whilst the Powerbook is slightly thinner, I think that seems to be the only difference. I don't think there is any noticeable difference in size - unless you compare the Macs to PC laptops - in which case you will notice that the Macs are much smaller and lighter. ;)

Hmmm while the two 12" models are pretty similar, I have a 12" iBook. When i play with my friend's 12" PB, I do notice that it is smaller. It really isn't that much smaller at all, but I DO notice.
