iOS Unity 3d performance

Has anybody pushed unity 3d really hard (or other flavors like iTorque)? How many triangles could you have on the screen at one time?

Also, is there a way to test drive unity 3d on the phone before purchasing $600 in licenses?

sorry cant really help, but unity do have really good support forums that are free to join, youd prob be better off asking in there
