What happened: 4 black children were crossing the street when they were hit by at least two cars; 2 of the brothers died, the other 2 were critically injured. Neither offender stops. Public uproar ensues. Five days later, a 28-y.o. white schoolteacher comes forward (with her attorney) and admits to having been one of the drivers. Has she been arrested? No. Has the local media made her out to be the/a victim? Yup.

What do you think of it all?

I'm near Orlando but we've been seeing quite a bit of it on the local news.

It's not unusual for them to wait to arrest someone allegedly guilty of a serious crime. What I've heard is that they're waiting for the other person in order to make both arrests, and probably, to check both stories. It's most likely that they'll not find the other person because they've been shielded by family and friends and had body work done secretly.

If the teacher was a victim, it was because she was stupid/not paying attention. Yes, people want revenge but it's generally not the people personally involved.
