Hi
Skype updated to latest version last night.
When it started a popup came up
This version of Skype works only on Unmodified iPhone OS 2.2
Has anyone else seen this?

Holy crap.
I get that too.
Hmm...
The program still works fine though, and I can make calls. Perhaps it's just a thing they put in place to sort of help themselves given how buggy the app originally was on jailbroken phones?

Where did you get that message? I'm JB 2.2.1, updated Skype, and opened it with no message.

It updated and then I opened Skype and got the message. Only once. Rebooted device never got it again.

I got this message once as well but Skype still works fine over wifi, 3G and Edge. I would suggest keeping copies of your Skype ipa files (the original as well as the current one) just in case a future update prevents Skype from working on jailbroken phones.

Have any of you guys noticed quality issues when using the latest version of Skype over 3G or Edge (I haven't tried wifi yet)? I don't know if it's just me but I was on a couple of calls today and the other person's voice kept dropping out and I sometimes heard this weird noise that sounded like the noise a spring would make. Anyone else having problems? I'm thinking about going back to the previous version.

I recently jailbroke my iPhone I downloaded voipover3g from cydia and then skype from the appstore. I opened skype logged in and tried to make a test call skype said 3g is not supported and wouldn't let me make a test call. I tried rebooting skype, I tried rebooting my iPhone, and I tried reinstalling voipover3g does anyone know what I am doing wrong? The only thing I can think of is the mobile substrate, I just jailbroke and I don't know if I have to update the mobile substrate? I couldn't find an update in cydia, any help?

Are you sure you even installed Mobile Substrate? Go to the search tab in Cydia and search for it. You definitely need the most updated version so make sure you install it (it doesn't sound like you did).

Is anyone else having quality issues when using Skype over 3G? With this latest version of Skype I'm finding it unusable over 3G (dropped calls, can't hear the other person, etc.). I'm actually thinking about going back to the old version since I can't see Skype addressing this issue considering that it's not supposed to work over 3G at all.
