Im glad microsoft is approaching the standard nowadays, still quite slow, but good direction.

the company officially gave its heads-up message that Office 2007 SP2 will be officially released in two weeks, on April 28. In it, users will have the ability to export their open OOXML and "compatibility mode" documents to Open Document Format and to Adobe's PDF format, in the company's first implemented stage of its support for alternate and interoperable document formats.

They've had the Save as PDF (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4d951911-3e7e-4ae6-b059-a2e79ed87041&displaylang=en) Add-in available for years (as an option you have to hunt down and install manually). Nice to see it'll soon be part of the default install though.

I personally don't use Micro$oft Office, but as a Free Software (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html) advocate, I find this great news!

yeah, if this is done correctly, it will give other office suites a much better play ground.
