I think I bricked my iphone

was having problems with my jb iphone 3g on 2.2.1. so restored and tried pwnage again. when I did dfu mode itunes popped up with some kind of error and now itunes will not even recognize my phone and the phone will not turn on or anything. please help what did I do wrong?

Nowadays its almost impossible to brick your phone. But going in the spirit of the first reply, definitely read the stickies, they answer almost all questions about jailbreaking / unlocking.
