is it sketchy to use limewire?

my pc got absolutely ****ed because of limewire and all the stuff I downloaded. so will this happen if I download it onto my mac or is the virus protection good enough so I don't have to worry about it?

Limewire sucks! Use
uTorrent instead. And yeah, Limewire is full of viruses and other crap. I use my old laptop for downloading torrents and other stuff
 
There are no Mac viruses. Limewire is a terrible service, anyway. Just don't use it. Torrents are a far better means of collectively sharing files.
 
ok..thats guys..I was hoping there was a way around it..
but it still makes my computer more susceptible to viruses right?

Most of the users uses Windows so it's more known than OS X so all viruses are for Windows. There are some trojans for Macs but you have to type admins password before they act.
 
so I got utorrent, and other than the that interface, I cant really do much, every time i try to search for anything, it just closes..
do i have to open an account or something?
