I wanted to buy a couple of these, but under the title in yellow highlight, it says "Not compatible with Mac". Why on earth not?

It should be perfectly fine. I'd contact their site to tell them they've got it wrong. It's not very descriptive, but maybe it comes with backup software or something that isn't Mac friendly (not that we'd need it anyway).

I think I figured out exactly why it says that. It probably comes preformatted as NTFS and most people would not be able to figure out how to reformat and they certainly would not know that it needed to be reformated. Apple should really consider implementing native NTFS read and write support.

None of the pre-loaded syncing software works on the Mac, the HW is fine.

But the software is Windows only.

Thanks

I think I'll spend the extra on the Mac Edition for FW800 anyway.

On another note, we really should have a better "universal" filesystem. FAT is way too old. Try explaining it to a newb and they'll start calling YOU overweight.
