RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231135) is so dirt cheap nowadays that it makes little sense not to just max out on it.

I've had 4 GB of RAM since December of 2007. $79.99 was dirt cheap back then.

Yeah, with how cheap RAM is those days, there's no reason not to upgrade.

It will not speed up incredibly, as the CPU is the one that is needed the most to render.
But it will run smoother, and maybe you'll experience a slight increase in render times.

This may be a dopey request, but where is the best place I can get the little screwdriver to open up my macbook for RAM replacement?

I'm in NYC if that helps any.

Eidorian,

Thanks for that link. I went to that product listing, then clicked "Read All 520 Reviews" then I sorted to show lowest reviews first. Apparently that RAM has much incompatibility issues.

Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes?

This isn't a dopey question. I looked high and low before I found one. Then... my ebay drive showed up and there was one included. :D
