I got my Touch a few days ago. After looking thru the app store I get the impression that there are no trials for the apps. On my Palm just about every app had a trial so I find this quite odd. What is up with Touch apps not having trials?

It's just not how the App Store works. Perhaps in the future, apple will introduce this concept with an update or something. That would be a great feature to have. :)

A lot of apps have Lite versions, that end up being similar to a trial of the full version.

Can't they have a free trial version that expires and a paid version that doesn't?
I've only seen lite versions for games so far.

They are there for other apps, but not every app - it's on the developer to create the lite version.

They could if they wanted to, but they don't. Like I said they may do it in the future, but currently lite versions of apps are your best bet.

By 'they' do you mean Apple and not the developers? I should have realized that Apple would be the limiting factor.

Yes, I have should have been more clear I was referring to Apple. Making trials is not currently possible with Apple's current restrictions.
