Ok. I was talking to some dude and he told me that he heard there is such an app where I don't have to store my music directly on my phone, but instead have my music library accessible over the internet. He said that I have to have the app on both my computer and the iPhone. I know there are apps that let me do that within the same network, but how about if it is just using 3g?

Is there even such a thing?

Yeah but unfortunately you have to be on the same wifi network to stream it. Not that useful in my opinion.

Hang on, let me get this right? (It is 2am, I have had beer, I have had no sleep)

This works of the 3G/Edge network? - What's the limitation?

Theoretically I can leave my Mac on at home and play the music on it through my iPhone when I am 60+miles away?

Have I got this wrong?

Thanks

You've got it right. You can also access up to (I believe) 5 shared libraries. As long as the computer remains on.

Sweet!

Although now completely negates my need for an iPod at work :(

The Simplify Media application needs to be running on your home computer, yes. It is independent of iTunes.

Do you have to buy a base computer app as well, or just the iphone app?
