I skimmed the article. Something about Josh and drug dealers, I think. See the 2nd paragraph and the very last paragraph.

OK, I'm teasing. Nice story. Nice photo. Congrats, Josh! :)

His recycled phone used to be used by drug dealers? Wow! :D

This is the way we start rumours. :D

Very nice to know that you can get recycled phones since they seem to be more expensive all the time.

Now, if we all had a Josh, too. :)

Congratulations Josh. I'm impressed that you were featured in a New York Times article. It doesn't matter how how you get the phone as long as it works.

Thanks everyone. Glad to see someone read that.

It was actually refurbished, for the record. Also, the phone wasn't from drug dealers. It was worse. It was from Canada!

Anyway, I posted a review (more of AT&Ts service than of the phone) on howardforums and got an email from Howard Chui (http://howardchui.com) saying that someone from the NYT had contacted him about interviewing me. I called the person and did a short phone interview, then arranged to have my picture taken.

"You know drug dealers," said Verna Kearney, the police officer who directs the project. "Their phones are top of the line."

Haha..

Perhaps these couple of lines will inspire some...

That's another way to tell that this is 2004: When the male partner of a teenage marriage is cited in a major newspaper company on one side of the country, and the female partner is cited on the website of a big fruit company on the other side of the country.

Our two MacRumors media stars aren't married, unless they've been keeping a very big secret from all of us. I like your characterization of Apple as a big fruit company. Maybe that's why they keep seeding their operating systems.

C'mon, Doctor Q, even you posted in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=54601). And since I see no correction as to the implication of the status of the relationship being a marriage (as wdlove mentioned), I'm also implying that the status is a teenage marriage.

I like your characterization of Apple as a big fruit company. Maybe that's why they keep seeding their operating systems.

Ask Forest Gump. He'd know for sure.

I was also on the web page of the big fruit company, because I was first in line for the Panther release at The Grove.

Teenage marriage? What?

That's pretty cool that you were featured in the New York Times, an excellent newspaper.

I hope you like your new, or refurbished, cell phone. ;)

I've always wondered how reporters come up with “random” people across the country who are examples of whatever obscure thing an article is talking about. I bet Google has made reporters' jobs a lot easier than it was before.

how do you too always get in the media so much? u have been on apple.com, now josh is in ny times....and other places i dont remember....Well, ibookin' has done it again. Or maybe it's just a coincidence. :D

Here's a snippit from today's comic strip For Better or Worse (http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/forbetter/), by Lynn Johnston.

It is clear that:

A) She is not using a Mac
B) That geeky kid dosn't know what he is talking about
C) Anger Management classes might do good here
D) The "Geek god" is vastly sterotyped...I look NOTHING like that!
E) ibookin' has some strange, supernatural powers that draw the media to him...
