You could do the steps in this every month or two: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490 .

It seems to be working okay for most to drain the battery completely and recharge it once in a while.

The MacRumors site has its own wiki on the subject:

...and the Battery University site has some good info:
http://batteryuni************/

not sure why the url doesn't take but it's: batteryuniversity dot com

To make it easy for you, I've found that the best way to maximize your battery is the following.

1. Fully charge the battery.
2. Once fully charged let it sit for 2 hours.
3. Use it until reserve battery kicks in. Plug it in to charge now or keep using it until it goes to sleep.
4. Repeat cycle.

I've been doing this now and my battery health has been solid. I've found that its not good for my batteries to charge once there at 50% or 70% anything like that.
