I have an Apple mini DVI to VGA adapter from my imac to a second, mirror monitor. It works fine. However, how can I extend the length from the mini DVI side of the adapter, as currently this adapter (miniDVD to VGA connector) is only 6 inches long?

you'd probably find a vga extension easier, just pay attention as they come in Male/Female and Male/Male versions.
If you're really in need, they have those at radio shack or your local electronics store. If you can wait a few days, i second monoprice.

extending mini DVI connector

Thanks for the input, my problem is that I need to go through a wall with the extension, I am trying to avoid the larger VGA connector side, as the mini DVI would seem to be smaller.
