I have a 1st generation core duo whitebook from 2006 running with 1 gb of ram. I would like to max out the ram but was wondering what the maximum ram capacity actually is in these models.

Thanks. I see we have the same machine!
Am I correct in assuming that there is no limit to the hdd size that I can put in, provided that its a mobile hdd like, for example, the WD Scorpio?

Correct you are. The MacBook will handle any 2.5" SATA drive.

Just be sure to choose a drive with a height of 9,5 mm.

Which would exclude Hitachi's 500 gb drive.

I should have said "any standard-sized 2.5" SATA drive"...
My current favourite is the 500GB WD Scorpio, but I've been a WD fan for quite some time now...
