How to flash a PC graphics card to be used for Mac?

Hey, I'm wondering how I can flash a PC graphics card, like the ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB (compared to the 512MB which is only available for Mac), does anyone know if this is safe, and what kind of things can go wrong?

I'm on a work computer, I'd rather not have it crash for some reason...

Also, do you think it would void the warranty putting that card in there?

There are a couple of active threads about flashing, do a quick search.

Crashing . . . thats totally subjective, it could just stop for no reason and you wont know. Apple won't be able to troubleshoot for you.

Warranty, may or may not void warranty, who knows on this one.
