Hi,

I just got my new JVC HD40 and tried to import the clips into iMovie. Using MPG2 (.TOD) and iMovie HD everything is fine and works well.

But I would like to use iMovie 09 because of plenty of more features. Compared with the apple list all my hardware and software is able to use AVCHD file from the JVC. I also installed the the Quicktime component coming with the camera.

If I connect the camera to iMovie I can previe the clips and they look great. As soon as I import them and they are in my project only the first frame looks good. All the rest of the clip is brocken. You find a picture attached of how it looks like.

I have no idea what that is. It does not look like an interlacing problem, even if this would be my first idea. The camera records 1920x1080 @ 50p and iMovie imports as interlaced. But I cannot change the import settings to progressiv.

Does anybody has an idea what is wrong here? Anything I can do?

Thanks for your help.

Patrick
