'WOW' sums up how I feel right now.

I received my first Mac today. A Mini 2.0/4GB/320. This thing is awesome! It takes some getting used to after being a DOS/Winders guy for over 20 years...

Oh, I also got my iMac 3.06/8GB/1TB. I have not hooked it up yet. I am scared to because of the freezes. I will do so this evening and post if I quickly get a lockup.

I was pretty worried about buying a mini earlier this year after reading so much mini bashing. It has been by far the best and most fun computer I have ever owned. From off the shelf name brand to custom built PC's the mini hands down wins. I am glad I went against the grain and ordered what I wanted.

BTW I am glad you didnt chit can your mac experiance because of the issues with the new iMac's I think you made a good choice.

I'm a relatively new mac convert too (mini 1st) and now on this new iMac ... i'm so loving this thing... there is something about the mac that is greater than its spec and expectations

Why did you by a Mini and an iMac?

The iMac is mostly for my wife and 2 kids. I want to play on it too but can guarantee that I won't get much time on it. So, I bought a Mini too for me! :D

Congrats, and welcome to the "Other Side." :D

Sure, you'll be assailed by teeth-gnashing WinBots for being an elitist cultist ignoramus with too much money to spend (they love to stereotype, you know), which you'll happily take in stride as you put the misery of Windows life squarely in your rear view mirror.

As someone who has used Windows for 16 years and Macs for 18, I can assure you based on many years of personal experience that you've made the right choice.

You're going to have a great ride! Enjoy.

Wear some sunglasses, you might find it bright out in the sun for the first 90days after you crawl out from under that Microsoft Rock.

And the OP is legally allowed to talk publicly about his new computer. :D

Why did you by a Mini and an iMac?

is one not allowed to own 2 desktops? :p

I bought a mini for the living room as a desktop anyone can use and I plan on upgrading my office desktop to an iMac this friday.

Some people have also been buying mini's as a substitute for Apple TVs.

The freezes only happen with the ATI 4850, so unless you ordered that, you will be fine.

Yeah, I have the 4850. So far, after 4.5 hours, no lockups. Yea Me! Perhaps I should knock on wood...things could get worse.

Wow a 4850 iMac that works and 8 GB of RAM. Your iMac is king of the hill mate - I bet that bad boy runs like a hot knife through butter! Congrats and enjoy! :D

Did you actually pay 1 grand for the ram upgrade alone?
