How come my iPhone has a different layout whenever I make calls than Apple's sample pictures?

Like that photo that shows "John Appleseed's" call. His Caller ID photo is on the top right corner next to his name.
But mine shows my Caller's Caller ID photo as a wallpaper.
I have OS 2.2.1 latest version idk if that's latest. YES MINE IS JAILBROKEN! But it still had that issue before I jailbroke. err.... yeah help?

When the contact's picture is assigned on your iPhone, it displays the photo as wallpaper.

When the contact's picture is assigned on another source (like your Address Book or the MobileMe website) and synced to the iPhone, it displays the photo as a thumbnail.
