(USING MAC) to download(means from forum) and install games to a jailbreak 2.2.1

😕I'm a new member in jailbreak ipod touch in firmware 2.1, I know how to use cydia & installer, but I don't know how to download a game from a forum and install it to my touch by using mac computer?? Please help.
 
what type of game is it? a rom? a actual game in a .app folder? or the game of the illegal kind off the app store but downloaded off net?
