Some guy I know who's a friend of a friend keeps berating my Mac whenever he gets the chance. Last night I was using my friend's PC to eject an external disk on Windows because it was using NTFS 3g and wouldn't mount in OS X because it was "still in use". It was a pretty normal procedure, of which none of us even gave a thought to... and he walks by and mutters, heh, macs they just work. I ignore his rude statements, and he comes by again and says, see can't even get an external working.
I mean, these people need to get laid or something. It was windows that F'ed up the external, it works under Linux, Unix, everything else other than Windows that needs "ejecting safely". Then he goes on about 97% of the world's people can't be wrong for using Windows. If 97% of people drove Land Rovers, does that mean it's a brilliant car? I'd take the Lambo anyday.
Like this kinda stuff simply pisses me off. I am a hardcore PC user and a Mac user. I know the pros and cons of each platform so I'm not so judgmental when it comes to PC users or Mac users. I see the light in both platforms.
This guy is just senile. He's bent on proving the PC platform is better than Mac, any way he wants, even when nobody really gives half an arse to listen.
There is absolutely nothing you can do on Mac that you can't do on PC and vice versa. Heck they're even using the same hardware. But there is definitely something that's on the Mac that doesn't exist anywhere on PC... that's tact and design style. Ever since I used OS X, I can't go back to Windows. OS X has that sharp, no bs feel to it. Operating it feels like you are holding a sword, it's just an extension of your hand. There is some elegance using OS X. Operating Windows is like trying to get a kid to do what you want. You get the job done eventually, but going through it is such a hassle.
I've been using Windows 7, and it feels like I"m throwing around a club. Parts of it looks very well designed, yet other parts still use the old GDI+ drawing system. It's very disgusting to see a GPU accelerated window have to redraw its insides line by line.
Anyway, just my little rant about how some PC users are fags that whine about the processing speed, ram, and harddrive space, whilst their PC looks like a total Turd. All I can say is Mac laptops are 10x better than any other laptop available. That includes the VAIOs, which I hold as second best.
