is there anyway to change default photo names

I would like to change the default naming convention the phone uses since it is the same as my dSLR camera and i am going to end up with conflicting names sooner or later.

sadly no. there is probably a 3rd party app that might do it.
 
There isn't with the iPhone that I'm aware of, but there might be a way to change the default naming method on your camera. I don't know if that would solve your issue though.
 
Maybe with 3.0 they'll add that. Maybe they'll add a date and time stamp to the pictures you take with your iphone. I don't have an iphone yet, but from what I understand you can't tell what date the picture is from on your iphone. I mean my 3 year old Nextel phone can do that. Come on Apple it's a simple fix.
 
In my experience this hasn't been a problem-- the files end up in different directories, or get renamed as needed when being copied by the tools.
