Comment: "Dropping Out of School" comes from the prominent "Free Culture movement" artist, Brad Sucks. The entire album "Out of It" runs the gamut of influences that Brad Sucks.
In terms of cross-reference, all I can say regarding "Dropping Out of School" is that it reminds me of a Beck song. It has the feelings of something off Beck's Guero, with some Odelay mixed in perhaps.
Granted it doesn't have the cutting social commentary that a Beck song might have, but if you enjoy anything by Beck, I highly recommend this song. Likewise, if you purchase from Brad Sucks' site (rather than iTunes), you can sample the source of the music and pay what you feel is fair (even if that's $0.00). So there's nothing to lose!
