When my battery is full do i have to unplug the adapter?

I have a macbook aluminum 13,3".
When my battery is fully charged do i have to unplug the power adapter or keep it there?
What is the best for my battery's life?
 
Just keep it in... your laptop is clever enough to know its fully charged and will stop charging it.

Do run the battery down at least once a week though, I think its good for the battery health if you run it down and charge it back up now and again...

Someone correct me I'm wrong...
 
Weekly is excessive. Monthly or quarterly conditionings are more appropriate, but still not likely to make a substantial difference in overall battery life.
 
If you don't remove it the men flying in black helicopters and carrying sniper rifles will come and sort you out.


In other words: it really doesn't matter that much, but I find it good to discharge regularly - once every couple of weeks is fine if you're never needing to actually use the battery.
 
according to apple, it's best to "keep the electrons moving' within it, and ideal use would be using it on the bus for an hour or so, then charging it, then using it at home unplugged for a couple hours, then charging it, etc. Definitely calibrate your battery every 1-2 months though. I hear it really does make a huge difference in the life of your battery.

The "keep the electrons moving" was the most retarded marketing ploy I've heard until I saw the Microsoft laptop hunters commercials.

Electrons don't care if they're moving or if they remain attached to the Lithium atoms inside the battery. All batteries degrade, and they degrade at an accelerating rate the more you use your battery.

i'm not so sure about that. If you leave a battery without charge or with a full charge for a long time, it harms it. It makes sense; keep the battery going up and down, thus removing then recharging the lithium atoms with electrons.
