And I was so proud of myself for finally getting around to moving to 1.1 last weekend.

I think you have to be signed up with Apple Developer Connection (should be free to sign-up) and download it from the Apple website.

Go here (http://connect.apple.com). The no-charge level of ADC will be enough to get you access to Xcode updates, SDKs and other tools, but not prerelease stuff.

I'm not rushing to download it, they'll probably mail me a CD so I'll install it when it arrives (they sent me 1.1 so I'm expecting to get 1.2 as well).

Beware - If you do decide to download it, it's HUGE (614 MB, divided into twenty-one 30 MB segments). I downloaded it because I have a fast connection to the Internet - it took about 30 minutes to download.

With previous releases, alongside the disk image they published updaters, which would allow to save some time downloading all the segments. Unfortunately I don't see one for the 1.2 release.

It would seem that too much was revised and so an updater responsible for some much would be extremely complex and was avoided in order to insure stability.

OK then, considering I don't have broadband, I probably won't be downloading
