Of course its not.
You just met a random person online, over a forum you've just joined, who offering to sell you their phone. Completely safe. Make sure you send them cash in an envelope.
I definitely encourage these type of sales.
IDK why MR has guidelines at all.

Go ahead with the purchase if you think you're comfortable with it. It's really not our perogative to tell you what's what.
What you need to know however is that there are forum rules and these ought to be respected. Nevertheless, good that you got your offer. This thread is so going to wasteland. We're getting alot of these nowadays.

Yes.. very.
I'm sorry but there's so many stories around here these days, in this community, let alone eBay and Craiglist.
You can never be too careful and no offense meant, but if you're going to track down an iPhone through these channels, you're going to get bit.
In the marketplace you've got a decent chance of there being a smooth transaction, as most people here trade frequently or have in the past.
But posting a thread asking sellers to seek you out is like putting your hands up ready to be made a fool of.
