Newbie Q; How to copy home produced DVD to disk?

I have some home movies xferred from VHS to DVD in an all-in-one unit. Now I'd like to copy them to disk on my iMac. is there an inbuilt function to do this or do I need to use a ripper like Mac The Ripper?

EDIT: Answering my own Q, just copy the VIDEO_TS folder.
