I recently sold my used academic version of Logic Studio, but before I ship it off... I need to remove the license from my computer. How do I remove/unregister the license for Logic Studio that way the buyer will be able to use it? Thanks.

I don't believe you need to do anything. Despite what the EULA says, you could install Logic Studio on a million macs using the same licence without a problem.

I was told by removing Logic from my computer and the Logic Studio System ID file... it should work... is that right?

Removing Logic would obviously be the right thing to do... but even if you didn't, it wouldn't prevent it not working on another mac. I don't think this was the case on older versions, there was a USB dongle and whatnot.
