Mac Bok Air Shopping help

I am totaly new to Apple computers and would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me with queries regarding shopping of Apple laptop.

I am planning to buy a Mac book air with following configurations. Is it good..?? My intention is to use this laptop for Iphone development. I have pasted only the main configurations details. Let me know if you need more info.

Processor 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Storage 80GB 4200-rpm Parallel ATA hard disk drive

The one you have spec'd out is a Rev A machine which is routinely bashed here. Rev B (which will cost you ate least $500 more from Apple) is a technically better machine all round.

If that is all you are going to be doing however, it should be ok. I am sure others will chime in....

Personally, since it is going to be my main computer (I am also going to do iPhone development on it and run Parallels) my funds are going to dictate if I get a Rev B or a Macbook unibody.

At least get the SSD for 1,199 I cant imagine doing all that on the regular hard drive. Other than that you should be good. If you realy want to work fast get the ALU Macbook or 1,299 SSD macbook air.:apple:

Just wondering why you would choose the old MBA version and not the new one? The new one is approaching six months since release, and is an amazing computer in every way.

You should definitely understand undervolting via Cool Book, re-application of thermal paste for the CPU, and the list of problems with the original MBA, before you buy the original MBA. Be sure that you want to deal with those problems for the discount of buying the old version.
