Now this is very cool as well... cool to see that advanced orbiting technology can be used as a design device. :D better than a Wacom??? heheh

Imagine the possibilities.... ;) :D

how do you see animations in that? They're not moving pictures....more like a global version of an etch-i-sketch.....:D

iGAV, I know you always give us weird stuff, but I'm confused...Very, very confused as to the purpose of this.

(note the number of confused faces...That's quite a bit of confusion.)

Its art - so it doesn't need to have a purpose :D

im with you...wtf is the purpose of this? what does it have to do with GPS? it just looks like Etch-A-Sketch style drawings to me...what am i missing here? P.S. i haven't slept yet so things that may be quite obvious aren't clicking currently.

This all goes back to that eternal question... what is art??

Basically people use GPS handhelds, and by physically moving around their environments and landscapes the positions are plotted into the GPSograph software, that visualises these movements graphically, and thus you end up with a 'drawing'. ;)

Does it have a purpose?? well as Mr D said earlier.... nazca lines of the 21st century I think that describes it perfectly. ;)

oooh! now I see why it's cool. I didn't realize what this had to do with GPS. You see, I decided to look at the pictures and not read. That can sometimes be problematic.
