Refurb PB G4 1ghz 15" Combo 256 (upgrade to 512), 60gb
or
New PB G4 1.33ghz 12" Super 512, 60gb, AE
(I do general work and minor multimedia work ie imoves, finalcut expresses, etc)
I don't want an iBook:
1)Bad fit and finish
2)Not as fast
3)SCRATCHES!!!

Since you mention iMovie and FCE I would say go with the new one with superdrive. Maybe you aren't concerned about DVD burning now, but in the future you may want to and then you will have to buy an external burner. Not that that wouldn't work, just you can t really take it with you and burn where ever you are and isn't that the point of a laptop.

12" unless you want/need PCMCIA expansion capabilities.

Hands down the new 12", if you can deal with the smaller screen size. Otherwise, it's better in every way for what you need.

12"! It's got AE and that's becoming a must in these wi-fi days. Don't worry about the smaller screen; it's beautiful and most people have no problem at all with it. And you're going to LOVE the portablity. It's a pound lighter than the 15" and will fit on airline tray tables and small Starbucks tables with room to spare for coffee and a danish :cool:
