Unable to use edge on 2g unlocked/jailbroken APN settings sidekick plan?

Hey guys so I just unlocked and jailbroke my new to me 2g iphone. At first when I tried to access the data services it would say i wasnt subscribed to a cellular data service. So I searched and found out I needed to mess with the APN settings.

I had a sidekick and am on that plan. I changed the apn to wap.voicestream.com and then rebooted and went into safari. and got this

$MESSAGE$

Request URI=/

What could this be and what do I need to do to use the edge network.

ok so i put in epc.tmobile.com as the apn and then I go on safari and I get this web page that says

Subscription Required
You are not currently subscribed to a web2go(sm) plan. Click ere to view plans and get the entire web - right on your phone.

Any insight here?
