Powerbook Pismo G3 Firewire WONT BOOT AT ALL

I have google searched and looked around here, but what I would like are a complete list of options for my problem before I go the fix it at Apple route. My G3 Powerbook will not turn on at all, nothing. Things I have tried...

Reset button on back
Remove Battery and try AC adapter
Remove Keyboard

Are there any other things I can try before I go to Apple?

19 views and not 1 answer, oh boy Im not feeling very optimistic all of a sudden, anyone care to help out or am I stuck?

Your backup battery (not the system battery) may be dead. I've seen this before with the Pismo. If it's been sitting long enough with no AC adapter and no system battery (or a discharged one), the backup battery runs so low the computer won't even boot. The battery can be located under the keyboard in the right expansion bay. It's easily replacable, but yours will probably recharge if you can just borrow one long enough to get your computer started.

Open the keyboard and lay it upside down on the trackpad, remove the CD/DVD module, and you'll see the battery with two wires connecting it to the logic board. It's held in place by a flexible plastic shell. This battery is actually 4 different batteries with spot-welded leads to connect them. Your local battery specialist might be able to make one up for you--or even recharge this one. But what I've done is borrow a battery from another Pismo or Lombard (it's the same battery) just long enough to get it to boot, and then plug in the original battery to recharge it. You don't even have to take yours out of the plastic shell--just disconnect the cable. Got any friends with a Pismo or Lombard?

No I dont know anyone else with one of these, this is my sisters. Are these off the shelf lithiom Ion batteries? IE, would it be possible to construct one?

Yep, that's the right battery.

I honestly never took off the casing to see what type of batteries they are, but I do know they are spot-welded together, which makes it more difficult to make, unless you have a spot-welder.

I know they're not cheap, and I can't guarantee that it will fix the problem, but there's a good chance it will. If you have a good battery store nearby, you could take it in to see if they can make one for you... I've had that done quite cheaply before.

Man I wish there was a way to test this before I order one or have one made. Any of you live in Las Vegas with one of these I can use real quick? Hehe.

Well I called them and they told me it will be $30 to see whats wrong with it, I guess that is reasonable. At least that way I will know exactly whats wrong and I can decide if I want them to fix it or if it is something I can do myself with parts.
