Apparently all the bugs have been worked out (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBpcDBuM2RlBF9TAzk1ODYxNzc3BHNlYwN0aA--?slug=ap-washingtonbaseball) and the "new" MLB team in DC is for sure.

I personally would have preferred a return to the "Senators" name, somehow it has a ring to it.

Kinda sad to lose an "international" team (expos), I was always fascinated by the concept of making MLB truly international.

DC would have to pay the Texas Rangers for the name Senators since the Rangers were the Washington Senators and still have legal rights on the name.

I would have liked to have seen them go back to being the Washington Senators, too bad that they would have to pay the Rangers for the name. Oh well, I'm just glad to see that it's more for sure now that they're actually going to have a team there.

...and since I always bought Heileman's Old Style in the 30can packs while at college in 02/03, that'll probably be the team ;)

I thought about Milwaukee... the dome is nice, but the Brewers just suck...

As a part time resident of DC (well, for the school year), it really feels like the citizens of DC don't want the name Senators because DC doesn't have any Senators. It's unrepresented in Congress. There is even an option to get your DC license plate with "Taxation without representation" on it. There seems to be bitterness that DC citizens are unrepresented, so calling the team the Senators would be like rubbing it in their face. Or at least, this seems to be the attitude of people in DC. Plus the Senators is a hockey team in Ottawa already.
