Hi!
i'm thinking about getting a powermac G5 soon. and i want to update the gfx-board as i don't wanna stuck with the crappy 5200. so here's my question: i have a 9800pro from ati laying around here and it's not beeing used. Can i use it in the powermac? i know apple has special versions of all those graphic cards but is it possible to put a non-apple graphic in there?

thanks for answers,

It needs to be a Mac version as they have different ROM images for a whole host of reasons (starting with: Macs do not use a PC BIOS, but OpenFirmware which needs different hardware init code). You cannot use a PC card unless you can flash it to the Mac ROM (unsupported, not always possible).

Sorry :(
