View Full Version : shaving mirror?

i assume most of the posters are male here and most of those are old enough to shave
do you use a mirror to shave or are you confident enough to not use the mirror?
i just heard from a techie that besides the name hannibal for the new powermac, it's called "steve jobs' shaving mirror" edition
i kind of like that better than hannibal...i would not be able to sleep in the same room with the g4 every night and i would have to lock it up in a cage:p

that's called a beard... the idea is that in order to have one, you don't shave
i just use a mirror to see how many parts i missed

I've gotten pretty good at it too. It's not as easy as it seems and takes practice but it's actually better in some ways.
As to "Hannibal"..... I figure it's appropriate for a case that cannibalizes the previous rev, guts it, stuffs it with some fresh blue boards and bakes for 8 hours under a 7lb heatsync.:D ;)

I also shave in the shower as it is the best place to do that. Nice a seamy, can't really make a mess, water is always hot.
I do use a mirror in the shower to shave. It's the kind with a suction cub on the back. I just sticked to the shower door, soap up and shave.

I shave using your regular bathroom mirror, along with a before/after Clearasil job to prevent my face from being itchy.

as for shaving - i'm an electric shaver user - and sometimes I might even shave in the car on the way to work. I like not having to spend that much time in the morning getting ready - I usually don't eat something till I get to work.
Oh, and jello, thanks for point out the beard.....

well...for those who have seen me in person...they already know I have an incredibly thick beard...
shaving for me has to be a process...kinda sucks...
I use an electric to get most of it...then I use a Mach 3 Turbo to clean up...
but before that I need to moisten the hell out of my face so I don't eat it up...
and if I didn't use a mirror to inspect my work I'd probably end up looking like Frankenstein...

I use a mirror........ I need to cos I'm always experimenting with fuzz shapes...... at the mo it's a 'clit strip' that goes from my lip ring down my chin....... but not onto my neck...... I'm never completely clean shaven as my skin can't handle it..... and I never sport a face full of fuzz cos beards are itchy.......:D

Hot water at the sink for me...but I'm looking to get a shaving mirror for the shower...
I shave anywhere from two to three times a week...I usually have a goatee, my stuff grows in thick. :D

We have a mirror in the shower which i sometimes use to shave, but seeing as how i shave on an average of 1.5 times a week, it only gets used by me once or twice a month. right now i keep a sort of short trimmed beard around the jaw and up the chin and underlip, but the upper lip is 'stache free and there's a break between my side burns and the hair on my mandible. As you might imagine, it would be difficult to do this without a mirror. The way i prefer to do it is to have the apartment to myself so that i can leave the door open and not steam up the main mirror, then i just stand there all half naked, face covered with Edge gel and make that scratchy sound with my gillete... i hate the triple blades. Two are perfect, three's a crowd and doesn't shave the tighter corners well and i can't get enough pressure on the blades to smoothen my cheeks. Oh, and the "fog-free" mirror in the shower sucks, so it is really no fun to shave with.
Please do not attempt to shave a Macintosh.

How would deleting one's own post be abusive...unless you're trying to cover up an insulting/stupid statement and make it look like you never even said anything?
Mr. Anderson
Aug 30, 2002, 06:53 PM
that would be interesting if it was a Demi-God only option - but I'm not sure it was put into effect becuase of abuse, that just doesn't make sense.

arn doesn't say what would cause the abuse, but probably because of the hype from the PowerMac cause some regulars/newbies to continuously delete posts and, possibly, work up the traffic flow for the site.

Back on topic, L&G.
Around 4 months ago I only had to shave once a week; now I have to shave every three/four days to prevent it from becoming prominent.
