Looking for any advice on what screen to get, the biggest issues are obviously colour accuracy and contrast ratio. I've got a RevA 12" PB so VGA out only which is a bugger. I do a lot of photographic post-production work so ideally I'd get a nice Sony Artisan CRT but I don't have the desk space sadly.

I'm tossing up at the moment between the LaCie 20" Photon and the Apple 20" display, however if I get the Apple one it's an extra 200 or so for a VGA-DVI adaptor from Dr Bott to do the job properly...Is it worth the extra cash? Are there other options I should be looking at? Looking for a total under 800GBP (in the UK here) really.

I would consider getting a new desk and/or making space for a CRT.

As for LCDs, I am not an authority but the following seem well-recommended:

Viewsonic vp912b
eizo nanao flexscan l768
dell 1905fp
phillips 190p5eb

all are 19", but we don't want to break your bank...

good luck. consider my first sentence carefully.

Formac (http://mail.formac.co.uk/webapp/products_displays_overview_xtreme.php) make some well-reviewed models. Not 100% keen on the black feet... but I could learn to live with them.

Am considering this model myself as I'm in the same situation – need good colour but have very limited space. Am unsure as to the exact specs and differences between Platinum, Oxygen & Extreme ranges...

There are various ones in the £575-650 range from www.dabs.com/uk, my current favourites for UK tech stuff.

Would something like this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=105367) not do the same thing? Just curious...

Edit: Scrub that. appleretailguy put it most succinctly...
