Hi,

I just ordered a MacMini as a second computer and am wondering about what speakers are compatable (if anyone knows). Do the speakers have to be self-amplified or can I use a set of G4 Apple Pro speakers (I believe they had a bit of a different plug on them and got power from the computer)?
It's just for the 2nd computer so I don't need earth-shattering sound, and the little round Apple speakers would work well in a confined area. Any insight would be welcome before I go trolling eBay.

They will all you need is a 1/8 in plug

I think the Apple Pros are great for the price, but they won't work with the mini - you need powered speakers or an amp in between. The Pro-compatible Macs had built-in amps. Probably ones about the size of the mini. ;)
