You may not know it but arn has been doing market research right under our noses. The poll option is really so that arn can determine what ads to place on Macrumors. Very clever but I've figured it out. Below is an example of a report that may be distributed to sponsors:
35.29% prefer Coca Cola Classic over other Coke products
12.50% prefer Crucial RAM
80% will buy Lord of the Rings on DVD
63.64% are sick of KC and jef's polls
24.24% wear white underwear
60.98% have had more then one boyfriend or girlfriend (this explains the herpes ad ;) )
75% think Barry Bonds will retire with 650-750
82.32% clicked the "other" option
You can see how valuable this information could be to corporations. We've been conducting market research on ourselves all along and never realized it. ;)
