I have a MessagePad 130 here, and would like to sell it. Its great. Now, on to the sell!
It is is great shape. If you look closely you may find some minor issues with it, but this Newton is in a condition that is hard to find nowadays. It also has the original stylus-- something harder to find nowadays as people loose them. Another great thing about the 130-series of MessagePads is that they take normal AAs. I have two sets of the original Newton AA batteries, but they are getting old and I can't guaranty them. AAs work great though, and are actually really nice to use because they are found pretty much anywhere nowadays. The flip cover is great, still "sticking" to the backside of the Newton when not in use but easily flips forward to cover the screen. The backlight is in great shape, still pretty and bright. The screen has minor wear marks but is still in great shape.
The keyboard! This is a joy to type on. It has smaller keys than a normal keyboard, but it is very easy to adjust to typing on. It plugs securely into the Newton, without any wiggling. The keyboard also comes with its case, a stylish black bag that is rather convenient for carrying extra batteries.
I do not have the original power adaptor, but I do have a compatible charger that charges the Newton and powers it without any issues.
I also collected a great deal of software from the internet, and compiled a CD that I will ship to you so that you can simply insert the CD into you computer, install the software, and enjoy life with the Newton. Or, use the CD as a drink coaster and just enjoy life with the Newton. It works either way. But the CD contains a bunch of great software, including a system patch. Due to the fact that when I hard reset the Newton, it wipes out those system patches, I have to send it along with on the CD.
The great thing about the Newton is that if you forget to replace the batteries for, say, a month. Or two. Or even three, the data is still intact. Because of the non-volatile RAM that the Newton uses, the MessagePad 130 will keep your data safe in case of power loss. Try that with a Palm-- you might want to back up first. (I tried it out, and yes, it does loose its data not in ROM. The Palm that is.)
I am looking for about $90. I live in the U.S. of A. but would ship international-- you would just have to pay the costs of shipping it out of the country.
