View Full Version : New site up for General Cybernetics

Just wanted to let the regulars know that our new site is up. The changes were inspired by Alex_ant. There was a lot of help from people around here including Rower, Cleo, Duke, Eye, Jello (mostly for humor ;) ) and others. Sorry if I left anyone out, but you all helped.

So, that being said, I know the store part of it still sucks, but that is being worked on. So, post your thought. The new logo, the new slogan, the new look.

Let me know

This is a shameless bump, but I'd like to get some more feedback from people on the site.

What do you think? What do you like? What don't you like? Don't hold back.

...um, on second thought, everyone but alex_ant don't hold back.;) :p

well, you do have a way about you, you know.....

if you want it to change, do something about, complaining isn't always enough. And you do add a bit of comic relief at times :D

but if we're looking at him, he'd be turning right.....his left.

jello, you've moved into a position where a significant percentage of your posts are banter - and there's nothing wrong with that - so what's happening is you're being type cast - like the most of the *stars* from Gilligan's Island.

So its up to you to break away from that if you want people to take you more seriously. And it really won't take much. Its all up to you......

he'd start looking across from right to left, then turn towards us/the camera. so that's a left turn...

i disagree. a lot of my posts are in the political threads, which you tend not to be involved in. also, some of them are technical and mac related (in mac discussion or help or articles)... and yeah, some of them are joking around, but by no means is that all my posts. it might end up being a bigger percentage because myself and robbie or tea will go back and forth a bit. and that stands out in your head.

seriously though, this mascot stuff came out of nowhere and it's funny but don't think i brought it upon myself all of a sudden like you'd imply...

ahh well

Nah, I wasn't implying anything - it was all the moment - random association - your post made me think of a mascot for some reason and I was joking when I made the post.

And I will give you the political/techno thread bit - but they are all laced with a bit of banter anyway, and that's tough not to see, especially when you get off topic and throw posts at each other for a while. That's all I'm saying, and I don't think you should change, its pretty damn lively around here and that's fine. You just seemed to be getting a little agitated.

the mascot thing itself is harmless, and funny. by all means.

i don't banter in political threads at all really. in fact i probably get a bit too fired up at times. techno stuff is also usually short and to the point.

again, i don't deny i joke around and whatnot. and i don't plan to stop or anything. but i do feel a bit like any knowledge/skill/help i might have or be able to offer are just skipped based on the fact that i joke around... and i wouldn't really care if i didn't WANT to help or whatevs.

anyhoo, it's just kinda funny is all.

most things are funny to me though
