It will be interesting to compare performances of GUI on different macs using Let1kWindowsBloom. It's a cool little app that shows in how much time your mac can open and close 1000 windows, you can download it here (http://www.vgg.com/rob/WindowCarbon.sit) . It's only few kB's big..
It will be interesting to see how much does QE improve performance.
Ok,this is my system:
iMac G3 350 MHz/320MB RAM running 6D42 with no other apps open, dock hidden, animated app launching off..
with shadows=102 seconds
no shadows=97 seconds
CPU load 100% all the time of course. Those of you with QE supported machines please note how big was CPU load while Let1kWindowsBloom is popping windows.

Damn, that's really good. I guess 111 isn't bad considering I have 10.1 and the minimum support X system.

In 10.2 I got 44 seconds, the bad part is when I went into OS9 I got a score of 6 seconds!!!! WOW. This was on a PB 800. By the way I am trading my PB800 for a 933 single proc with 1.28 Ram and a 22" Cinema display. Who thinks thats a good deal? I can get a new PB 800 for 2499, so I was thinking about selling the 933, and display and getting a new 17" iMac, and another PB 800
