It seems like a lot of members now know at least one other member in real life. I was curious, just how many do?

my wife and i used to go to the mac store where mischief worked in capitola, ca before i was a macrumors member
many macheads i know lurk here and at appleinsider.com and macosrumors.com just to get a peak just before a macworld show...but they are not as interested as us core users in every minute detail of apple inc and their products

I've met a few: Eyelikeart, B2tm, MrsB2tm, teabgs, and of course DutchessStreet
I've been in the same room with Jelloshotsrule, whfsDude and Blakespot but failed to meet them.
And almost had a beer (Bass Ale) with Cleo in St. Pete, but schedule and the wife being sick postponed that - although I did talk to her on the phone a couple times.
I figure I'll meet up with a few more in the coming year due to projects I'm involved in with other members.
Eye is actually coming to visit sometime - I think.

No - I don't know any MR members as such, although I do recommend the site to any prospective or current Mac user that I know, because of all the great information available, and the nice chats we all have together.
There are a few people at my work who surf the pages on the site every once in a while, but I have no idea as to whether or not they have actually registered...
Maybe I should find out...

Ha, well then I guess that ups my having met members again. Strange, actually. I would think that there would be many more people who know each other. There might be many more registered that don't post, actually, which would make sense.

Only one. Draft is my bro.
But I think there are a variety of people here that I would get along well with if I met them in "real life".

The only person I know in reality is Artman617, I convinced him to join MR, cause he is the only other 'real' mac fan in my high school. I hope to meet some of the other members some day when I can drive!!(Only 17 more days till I get my permit)

You may as well. It's not like you have a huge software library. And I would give you a mac version of Alpha Cnetauri.

You have to have a different version to run it on a mac?

I don't know anyone, but if you're planning on being near Springfield, IL, I'd be happy to meet up and grab a bite to eat, or if you're old enough, have a drink.
Hopefully soon I'll be houston, and maybe I can meet up with the texas and n'awlins members.

Yea,
Me, Duke, Eye, Dutchess, MrsB2TM and MiniB2TM all met up down there. We put up a lot of pictures. Do a search for geekfest and you will find them.
mcrain, when you move to houston let me know. We will have to meet up in Louisiana at some point, unless you want to come to a Bama football game.

now that's not a bad idea... :D
however...I think for any Geek Fest to be successful...u guys gotta decide u wanna go somewhere...
when we put on Geek Fest New Orleans...we promoted & pushed it for a couple months...I even got a group rate discount at a decent hotel downtown...all of those who said "yeah I wanna come" did not...
I have no problem meeting anyone anywhere as long as I can...but as for putting together another event...if u want to...u do it ;)

didn't you guys have a successful geekfest new orleans?
the pictures seem to indicate you guys and gals had a great time over there
if san francisco, who came in second place as for a geekfest location, won out, i would have definitely gone
i wonder where the next geekfest will happen?
if we can get it together, my wife and i will hopefully meet up with mischief, and i presume his wife, and make a crop circle in santa cruz in northern california, and if we get a couple of more people, that can be the second geekfest for macrumors
santa cruz is just over the hill from san jose, which is a few miles from cupertino where apple inc is:D

Well, another gathering of MR people might be happening in November in DC. We'll see what happens with that....
