IBM G4, not G5

MOSR said that IBM had a G4 class CPU (or G3 w/ Alti Vec). I know they are unreliable, but htis is interesting. If they can get a good FSB and cache, this could be interesting. Your thoughts...

a G4 is a G3 with altivec. IBM made the G4s from around 450-500MHz for apple because Moto. for whatever reason couldn't produce them at a high enough clockspeed. IBM still makes the G3, (a 750), and IBM does say that the processor can accept a FSB of 200MHz. But the stopped increasing production at a higher clockspeed. The highest it goes up to is 900MHz.

900 MHz? I know that's the highest Apple went with the G3's but I must have sworn IBM made a 1.1 GHz G3 at one time or other.
