Divx3??

i have files from a friend that he sent. they are .divx3.avi files...quicktime doesnt play them and i cant seem to figure out how to make it. actually, even my windows media player (*gag*) that is on my mac wont play then! help, someone.

I think you'll need to download the player/codec from Divx.com. I don't think Quicktime will play them, but WMP will once you download it. You don't need to use WMP once you have the player.:)

well i went to divx and got a plug in that now allows quicktime to play divx avi's...but now it plays the video with no sound! boy this is ticking me off:rolleyes:

yeah, just b4 you posted the link i found that site....seems DUMB that you have to go through and "validate" each file...but its working so sure...but thanx for pointing me in the right direction!!
