I feel very sad, I have just sold my both my Quicksilvers, :(

I still have a TiBook but the Quicksilvers had to go in order for me to get the new machines!

but the 22" remains, I hope apple don't replace it!!

Are you expecting a G5 for the expo?

That would be sick if we see a quad processor mac. I'm ready to buy something new having used the hell out of my G4...which was the first G4 released. I was sorry to have been impatient and buy the first release G4 (350mhz) when a month later the slowest machine in the line was 400mhz. Oh well...live and learn.

well I bought the first G4 450 after I already placed an order for a G3 400 I was just checking the website and it changed right before my eyes, I quickly called APPLE and changed my order. Whew! that was close they were hours from shipping the G3 400. Anyway the first G4 350 is not even a real G4 it did not have the sawthooth board.

Found this on the multi-CPU, don't have any idea what it means except it lists the CPU speed at 8500 and the number of CPUs as 10, yet the processing power is way off

7999 Power PC 7400 G4 800 2 MacOS X Server 2.8012 OGR 16,902,720
7577 Power PC 7400 G4 866 4 MacOS 9 2.8011 RC5 29,181,712
8243 Power PC 7400 G4 8500 10 MacOS 9.1 2.7013 RC5 540,000
8242 Power PC 7400 G4 8500 10 MacOS 9.1 2.7014 DES 540,000

I sold them cause I like to have the latest hardware, speed is absolute, and as an OSX only users (par Golive and Photoshop) the processor makes alot of difference.

I'm hanging on tight to my quicksilver, I put a huge investment in it, and the speculations are NOT pointing at a totally new PM

It's a certainty, however, that there will probably be a faster machine, iMac LCD's are a must, but I doubt there is anything that will be THAT good.

BTW: Ever hear of hacking RC5? It isn't hard to do, and it could be the webmasters having fun ;)

Um...

sorry to burst your bubble- but these "stats/specs" can be easily faked.

I really doubt there is a 10 CPU Power Mac G4 running Mac OS 9.x and getting astronomical results.
