It's the 'a'. A female name in lot of cultures, (including ours, US) is much more likely to end in an 'a' than a male one.
When I first went to the Tech Pub, I didn't realize that Akira was actually Alphatech , it just sounded more feminine.
That's why I chose mine very carefully. edvniow doesn't sound quite masculine or feminine, it's more androdynous, which I have much experience in. :D

My little girl was named Khalila, we derived from Khalil (just add an "A") it is Arabic, which means Happiness. She makes me so very happy.

Well, I did get my wife to join, and she's not the most prolific poster, but she's got more than b2tm's wife so far, so there's hope. ;)

I think once she gets her own mac (no idea when) she might get more involved. But I do have to say, its a bit weird at times having her on the boards. The other day we were both on at the same time....I was in my media lab in the basement and she was upstairs in the tv room (wireless internet).....very weird.

dukestreet - I never put together the 'bomb' connection but I guess it makes sense now...as told in the links that over acheiver put up, my 2 kitties' names are Bombay and Kensington, and naturally they are super naughty, so when I want to yell at them I am too lazy to say "Bombay and Kensington" so I say "Bombensington" to shorten it up when referring to them together.

thanks, they're my little babies. i never thought i would like cats, but apartment living has turned me into a kitty-lover. hey that sounds like what happened with me and macs - i never thought i would like them, but i had to use them for school and it turned me into a mac-lover. ha!

bombay turned 1 on july 7, that picture was taken when she was about 10 or 11 months old. she's still pretty small, though.

we don't know how old kensington is - we rescued her from a tire outside in snowy december and she was very very tiny then, so maybe not quite a year old? that picture was taken today.

kensington looks like she's got a bit of an attitude - cute pics though.

We have a couple cats too, but they were my wifes before I met her. We did get a dog, Marley, who's a mixed breed but 100% biatch. But she's a great dog - here's a pic as a puppie.

She was about 10 weeks old when it was taken. Now she's 2 1/2 and about 50 pounds. And she still likes to sit in my lap...

Our family has a small dog right now, super small. I can't even spell the name. She's black, has longer legs than a Scottie, and weighs only 20 or 30 pounds. She's also about 13 years old or so.

In a year or so we'll get another dog and, maybe, two cats. To avoid cleaning all the hair/fur we'll probably get non-hairy pets.
