hold on hold on - I dont mean to sound ungrateful - but is that it?!!

uhhhh....no new desktops!!?? I mean, why on earth would ANYONE buy a desktop now? are apple bailing from that market??!!

Pants:

Apple could introduce desktops later at MWSF, and if the G5 is big, then
perhaps it warrants a separate announcement to avoid the
drinking-from-a-firehose effect. If we don't see new G4 pro Macs, that's
okay, it strengthens the chance of G5s before MWNY, although Apollos
remain strongly in contention (there -will- be pro announcements prior to
MWNY, Apple's not going to have the same pro lineup for a whole year, and
the high end imac is way up there with it anyway -- Apple's not going to
let the pro line ride if the imacs are up to that speed). Notice that
Apple's announced new iBook s. Portables are more a MWTK thing. Apple
might be clearing this out of the way now to free up room for a TK G5
announcement.
