I always find it interesting that there is a small (but vocal) group of folk who haven't quite made the switch yet... but still frequent a Mac rumor site...

Yeah, nothing worse then them damn vocal non-mac owning weirdo's who have nothing to do but sit around on their PC's reading macrumors.

Oh wait, that's me!

Hey now! Be nice :) Some of us are low on funds and parental units won't forward the cash even though they promised.

I think this must be the third reminder in the last hour that I need a Mac. *waits for lightning to strike or something*

But do you suffer from Mac Envy, or is it just some sort of odd fascination?

I drool over Eye's mac all the time. And the G4s in our artlab. I'm constantly reminded that a PC doesn't cut it for this artist.

when i owned a mac clone, by pwer computing, did that count as a mac?

many people own PCs by companies other than IBM and the PC is actually really only an IBM machine...my "PC" is a Compaq

i wonder if clones will ever come out again? and if they do, will it hurt apple's sales drastically or spread the influence of the much superior macintosh operating system?

it is steve jobs who said, "my biggest mistake was thinking apple was a hardware company instead of a software company" right after he was fired...he saw how bill gates and paul allen made the tens of billions and ruled the market without ever having built a machine

it could have been jobs and the woz, instead of bill g and paul allen who ended up ruling the personal computer market:(

Funny...most that don't own a mac are waiting for the money...wait, that includes me too .

I'll get a pb soon...hopefully a 1 GHz after the next update...why do I continue to post here...I WANT MY AVATAR! :D

...well, and this is also a cool site to post on.:) Can always keep in touch with rumors...and when I do get my mac, I can get help using it here. At least I hope so.

i got my mac.... and have never been without one... personally, i cant stand PC's... especially bargain ones. They make have a "faster" processor than a mac, but they sure dont work like any mac ive seen since the old 33 MHz ones!

The storm has passed New Orleans. There were many homes that got flooded, there are still main traffic arteries that are undrivable, and still many people around town without power. Right now the storm is headed up north...so be careful B2TM... ;)

I also am a non-mac owner. I have been lurking for some weeks on this site and listening to the conversations of mac familiars about various hardware, software, and the evolution of technology.

I will be buying my first mac in a matter of weeks. The combination of reliability, the new Unix OS, some nice hardware, and undeniable design style has made my decision to switch for me.

I have not yet decided which machine to get, I have a student computer loan and some saved money to use, but have considered everything from a Tibook to an iMac. I am wishing for an iBook update soon, so I can have my portable, with a little more power and graphics capability than they have now, but still keep the size, durability, and badass wireless networking of the i.

And i'm upgrading from my PowerMac 6500....thats right, goin from a 275Mhz 603e to a Dual 1.25Ghz G4...hows that for an increase in power? :D Though the wait has been on the verge of painful, it will be worth it, and I'll finally have a machine I can use for production, and I wont have to spend so much time at work using equipment when I dont need to be. :D

well to be honest, it wouldn't have been much less i don't think. and he didn't need another 15" (he has one, and if he gets/uses another monitor he wants bigger)...

he also will probably get it very soon. as opposed to shipping to alabama and then to va.

that all said, i agree, he could've done more to contact him. but he just wanted to compare general prices, not order just yet. and with no response (though unintentional) he just went ahead and did the sure bet.

PCs aren't that bad, once you cheat M$ a good one and hack the GUI... granted, OS X is a million times better than anything M$ has ever THOUGHT about designing... but i won't be dissing my old dell anytime soon. anybody dissing PC hardware is just plain irrational; it's just as good or better. that said, apple laptop design is lightyears ahead of any PC maker, even Sony.

so i wait and wait for my powerbook... Nov. 20 (my Bday) if they have 1GHz by then... otherwise, more waiting...
