Yeah, you're right, if they're going to be brought back it should be for everybody if not, then no one (except for mods with fecal fetishes) should be allowed to post them.

There should be a way for a poll to be put in a special area. Then either arn or a moderator would approve it prior to posting for the rest of it too use.

no I think the polls were widely overused and only added to the spamming, if polls were brought back there would definitely have to be some limitations on them.

limitations, yes. But how to put them into effect is something different. By making them open only to 6502s and above just makes getting 500 posts more of an issue. Spam mania would soon follow.

It has to be open to all, period. But only arn knows what type of limitations he can enforce and how much work that would require.

I think that the daily poll should suffice for now and if you really want to see a poll, email arn and ask him to make your idea a daily poll.

Well, this is essentially what the daily poll is, isn't it? You email your suggestion to arn and he decides whether or not to use it.

I think the current system is sufficient.
